IBA Annual Game Awards
Submit Your Bow-taken Game for the IBA Game Awards Program
Each year the IBA honors one of it's bow-hunting members in each of four different Indiana game categories. Eastern Wild Turkey, Whitetail Deer, Ground Hog, and bow-fished Carp. The hunter submitting the best specimen taken in the prior year's season will receive a high quality plaque to honor their trophy harvest. These are presented in a ceremony at the IBA's annual Awards Banquet each Spring. Note that attendance at the banquet is encouraged, but not mandatory, for award recipients. What are the guidelines?
- Eligible hunter must be an IBA member at the time of harvest.
- To qualify, the animal must have been legally taken in Indiana, using archery gear as defined by the P&Y club.
- Turkey: Scored using the NWTF system...submit weight, beard length and both spur lengths.
- Deer: Scored under the Pope & Young system and fair-chase eligibility rules. Submit completed score sheet. "Gross" score will be used (subtotal box).
- Ground Hog and Carp: for both, the scoring criteria is overall length plus largest girth. For groundhog, length is from the nose to tip of tail.
